Blackdown Cottage sleeps 4 and was built in about 1890, originally as the Estate Manager’s house for what was then a substantial estate of many hundreds of acres. Major renovation work was undertaken during 2008 bringing it up to 21st Century standards while still retaining many of the original features of this rare Boulton and Paul classic, such as the wood-clad walls in the hall, the cast-iron fireplaces in the sitting room and two bedrooms, and the solid iron door furniture.

The cottage sits in its own secluded 4.5 acres of lawns and woodland in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy driving distance of numerous National Trust properties including Batemans, the Home of Rudyard Kipling, a 4 minute drive away.
